Bisque Porcelain with Unique Basalt Glaze

A contrast of matte white and earthy glow, Silent Brass combines a green-beige glaze with velvety white bisque porcelain. Stefanie Hering developed the glaze with basalt in 2018 as a more responsible alternative to rare resources and thus a vision for sustainable decor.   

An additional glaze with a high proportion of basalt powder is applied to already glazed surfaces of the porcelain, which fuses with the clear glaze in a second high-firing. This complex process ensures strong adhesion of the glaze and thus durability and longevity. Due to the various chemical reactions and random formations of the colorants, each piece of Silent Brass is unique. 

As one of our color glaze collections, Silent Brass is robust, durable and easy to care for: traces of use, such as cutlery abrasion, can be easily polished off the resistant bisque. This makes the collection suitable for the home table and ideal for use in hospitality. 

The intensity of the glazes as well as their contrast make Silent Brass an excellent choice for furnishing a complete service, both as a single color and in combination with our Velvet, Cielo and Pulse bisque collections. With its metallic look, Silent Brass is an excellent complement to our Precious Metals collections Glamour and Platinum.
