Hering Berlin - Granat
Granat – Cobalt blue brushstrokes on velvety porcelain
With Granat, Stefanie Hering developed a decoration inspired by the fruit of the same name in 2014. The pomegranate motif can be traced back to one of the oldest known ceramic decorations in blue on white from the Ming period around 1420.
The expressive décor is created with colored cobalt pigments in a multi-layer ceramic silkscreen printing process. The resulting serigraphy is applied by hand to the high-fired bisque porcelain with a transfer medium and fused in a final firing at up to 1400°C. Consequently, the colored strokes take on a subtle soft gradient.
As one of our printed bisque porcelain collections, Granat is robust, durable and easy to care for. This makes the collection suitable for the home table and ideal for use in hospitality. We recommend placing a cloth between the pieces when stacking to preserve the delicacy of the decor.
